sometimes, lovin’ is so easy
days and nights holding you
past times weren’t always so pleasing
You came along and life began anew
when curlew call ‘cross Traeth Mawr
awaking to the sunrise glow
‘tho high tide’s ebbing from our door
we are anchored, easy, in life’s flow
breakfast at the station café
watch divers from the harbour wall
steam engines chug across the roadway
for us – Porthmadog has it all!
crossing the cob from the station
in the teeth of rain and gales
climb a sheep track to Portmeirion
buy a plate and walk the trails
next day ride upon a steam train
the narrow gauge line to Ffestiniog
waste slate mountains, pouring rain
send us straight back to Porthmadog
winter evenings are pitch black
in our apartment with a ‘view’
we watch the lights go on at Harlech
then sit and wonder what to do …
there are times, lovin’ is so easy
you and I together, come what may
and when life becomes a little crazy
we escape on our winter holiday
when curlew call ‘cross Traeth Mawr
awaking to the sunrise glow
‘tho high tide’s ebbing from our door
we are anchored, easy in life’s flow.

Such a beautiful poem written by Val to accompany the music written by John Pedrick. John your rendition of Val’s words as a song, is exquisite
