The festive Nut roast’s on our plate

No sausages or roasted goose,

It’s time to let the livestock loose

Chestnuts are wafting in the air,

Oh, let us taste this wondrous fare

No danger now for cows or pigs,

We’re feasting now on dates and figs

It’s Christmas party time again,

No fun for lamb or duck or hen

But aubergines with parmesan,

Wake up the taste buds more than ham

To feed the world there’s not enough,

Hungry people sleeping rough

So my friends eat only crops,
