A Carpet of Red by Adam Rutter

Rows of leafless trees

A Canopy of arches reach out to a pinpoint

The branches like a vaulted ceiling

Hang above a path;

The path, a carpet of red

The leaves cover

The kerbs with brown and yellow

And sun shines between the branches

I like this, Adam; it's really descriptive. The phrases "Rows of leafless trees" and "A canopy of arches" particularly appeal to me.

Right, that's it, then: the homework task is now complete. Thanks, everyone -- a successful mission!

My favourite bit is the vaulted ceiling 😊 I have often thought tree arches are like a kind of outdoor cathedral.
