Autumnal Weather by Adam Rutter

The wind bends the trees

Branches swaying: the leaves fall

Spinning, floating down

Like sycamore seeds

Rain drops make dotted lines on

Windows and fireguards

Sigh in the wind.

For some reason, my first comment didn't seem to "stick", so I'll try again!

It's nice to see this in print, Adam. Its imagery is strong; "Raindrops make dotted lines" is a great visual. I like it.

Very effective , love the sycamore seeds and dotted lines, and the sigh.

A beautiful poem Adam; do you have a fireguard that sighs? We no longer have one but I remember the one we used to have and I can imagine they do.
