This button puts me in
the mood
Of dancing to the music
Of Duke and Benny
Goodman
Those such cool jazzy
dudes
I had a fluffy jumper
In black with silver
buttons
And ribbons on the
cuffs
In which I danced to
any number
I lost one silver
button
It fell, I never found
it
Nor did I replace it
It still looked good
without it
It was Mondays at the
Hundred Club
Out teacher’s name was
Simon
He taught us to Balboa
And we learnt to do the
Rumba
My favourite was the
Lindy Hop
It’s other name was
Swing
It could be East or
West Coast
Keep the rhythm was the
thing!
John came to the
beginners
He never would progress
He claimed he couldn’t
do it
His feet were all a
mess
John preferred the
running club
They called him
Ballroom Harrier
He was my perfect
partner
Truly a dance hall
warrior!!

Wonderful, rhythmic upbeat evocation of dance. A brilliant creation within the ten minute limit. Super Jen xx
Agree with Liz- a real achievement for just 10 mins writing time with no knowledge of what the subject would be. Your love of dance shines through Jennie.
Yes, a nice little poem, Jennie. Its rhyme scheme is interesting, as it starts off ABCA and then switches to ABCB.
I like the descriptive work in the second stanza; your pieces always contain interesting imagery.

Thank you. I don’t analyse my writing like you do Alex, I just do it!
Only a 10 minute concoction!
Good work! Impressive to write such a detailed poem in 10 minutes -- I like it!
