 May Meeting

Tuesday 28th May 2024 at 7pm in the Spirit Room of Peepo's

We welcomed new members and returned 'old' members, and discussed the success of the 10th Anniversary Celebration and launch of the anniversary anthology, "Write On!" the previous Saturday. Matthew Green, LibDem parliamentary candidate for the 4th July General Election had been the special guest. He praised High Town Writers for adding to the factual reporting by recording how it feels living through world changing events - for instance the pandemic writing in the March chapter of our book. He also raised the spectre of AI writing humanity's future and the role that human writers, like us, must play in recording the truth and real human experience. We also thanked Peepo's for their extraordinarily generous gift of pizzas and raffle prizes at the launch.

Adam set the workshop writing prompt: 'an antique'. We followed by reading out our 'May' writing inspired by sounds or music.
