Peregrinations by Val Pedrick

 falcons reclaim

quarried heights

gimlet the gargoyle tower

stoop, swiftly silent

detonating iridescent whirls

in urban amphitheatres

above the startled city street

unfurling flocks of starlings chatter

crenellate turrets

a murmuration

gathering in

December’s dusk

Beautifully evocative of how nature is occupying cities. Love the phrase "urban amphitheatre" and I can see the starlings.

This is great -- a linguistic treasure trove. Wonderful words and nice use of alliteration. You are a true poet, Val.
